Business Activities Available Under Commercial Company Registration (CCR) in Bahrain
CCR – Commercial Company Registration – is the standard registration category for incorporated businesses in Bahrain. When most investors talk about registering a company in Bahrain, a CCR is what they are registering. It covers WLLs, BSCs, partnerships, and branch offices of foreign companies.
Under the CCR category, a company becomes a separate legal entity. Shareholders have limited liability up to their paid-up capital. The company can hire employees, open bank accounts in its own name, hold assets, and enter into contracts. The CR issued under a CCR is the primary document used for all subsequent government, bank, and regulatory interactions.
The activities listed below are those MOIC has approved for registration under the CCR category. The list is broad – covering manufacturing, trading, services, professional activities, and most sectors open to foreign investment. Ownership percentages vary by activity and by nationality; the activity status column in the table below reflects whether each activity is unrestricted (100% foreign ownership) or subject to limits.
